Public trust in AI is sinking as regulators grapple with urgent calls to govern the rapidly growing industry while tech companies and social media platforms rush to roll out new AI-driven tools. At the same time, the uncertainty and fear around how AI will impact business, jobs and the online information landscape exists alongside a curiosity about ways the technology can be harnessed for good.

Join Axios for an event in Washington, D.C. convening leading voices in tech and AI policy for conversations looking at the current state of public opinion around AI and what’s next for collective oversight over the technology. We’ll examine the current factors shaping the people’s view on AI and the next steps for action from various stakeholders including policymakers, tech companies and third-party experts to respond to public hopes and urgent concerns about governance, trust and AI’s impact on society.
